Before your consultation
What To Expect
The consultation
Your first consultation runs roughly 30 to 45 minutes. The doctor will take a full history, discuss your symptoms and goals, and determine which tests are appropriate.
You will need a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. Nothing to install.
Your results and plan
Once your bloodwork is returned, the doctor reviews your markers and builds a treatment plan around them. You will receive a written summary and a follow-up consultation to walk through it.
Treatment is never a once-off script. Follow-up bloodwork and review consultations are part of every protocol.

Is PEAQMD a registered medical practice?
Yes. PEAQMD operates under a registered South African medical practice number, and all treatment is prescribed and managed by qualified medical professionals.
Do I need to visit a physical clinic?
No. Consultations take place online. The only in-person step is your bloodwork, which you complete at a pathology lab near you. We arrange the referral.
How long does the process take?
Your first consultation can usually be scheduled within a few days. Bloodwork results typically return within three to five working days, after which your plan is prepared and discussed with you.
What does it cost?
Consultation and programme fees are set out at the booking stage before any payment is taken. Laboratory and medication costs are billed separately by the lab and pharmacy.
Can I claim from my medical aid?
Some consultations and pathology tests may be claimable depending on your plan and available benefits. We provide an invoice with the necessary codes for submission. We cannot guarantee reimbursement.
Is TRT safe?
When properly prescribed and monitored, TRT has a well-established safety profile. Safety depends on correct diagnosis, appropriate dosing and ongoing monitoring, which is why every PEAQMD protocol includes follow-up bloodwork and review.
Will I be on treatment forever?
Not necessarily. Some men use a defined course to correct a deficiency or support a specific goal. Others remain on long-term therapy. The doctor will discuss the expected duration with you at the outset.
How is my information handled?
Your consultation and health information are treated as confidential. Clinical records are held by the practice in line with HPCSA requirements, and personal information is processed in accordance with POPIA.
Where do I collect my medication?
Your prescription is sent to a pharmacy of your choice for collection or delivery, depending on the pharmacy's service.
